- Navigate The Site - Use The Search - Upload Certificates - Link The Certs To Your Existing Website. Navigating ODiamond.com: Keeping things simple, ODiamond.com has only four tabs for navigation. ODiamond.com Homepage: This is the homepage, the page that loads when you go to ODiamond.com. Here you can search for certs by typing part or all of the name. Using the search is covered more in depth below. The Upload Certificates tab allows you to upload certs from your computer directly to our website. With no password required and with the ability to upload up to 25 certs at once, you can quickly upload your whole inventory with no hassles. The How To Use This Site is covered indepth below. The Contact Us tab allows you to send us comments or requests and contact us incase you need to.
Using The Search Feature: Quick Tips: * Typing any file extension (such as JPG, JPEG, or GIF) at the end of the search will NOT yield better results and it is not recommended to use. * The search is case insensitive and will return the same results regardless of case. * The search yields results of partially typed cert numbers. This helps make the search easier for those who may have forgotten part of the cert number. * Do not type only 1 number or letter in the search box, it will take very long to load. * If you want the search to display all the certs in the database leave the search field blank and simply hit the search button. Below are a few examples of how to effectively use the search. Example 1: In this example we are going to assume that we don't know the whole certificate number and we have typed in only four numbers that we know are in sequence (1225).
The results, posted in the photo below, show that the database has 12 certs with the numbers 1225 in it. The first 10 have 1225 in the begining while the last 2 have 1225 in the middle. As you can see, this search searches the whole file name and recalls files that contain 1225 in them, no matter where they are in the file name.
Example 2: In this example we are going to assume once again that we don't know the whole certificate number, but know for sure that there is a letter in the cert number. Below we searched for any certificate with the letter A and a in it. ![]()
As you can see in the photos above we entered both a capital a (A) and a lowercase a (a). Our search is case INSENSATIVE meaning that it doesn't matter wheather you type in a capital or lowercase letter because they will both return the same results. Below are the results of the query for the A and the a.
Uploading Certificates: Uploading Certificates is a new feature that has recently been added on to ODiamond.com. ODiamond.com now allows you to upload an unlimited amount of certificates to our website. On this page you can upload 25 certs at a time with a simple click of the mouse. Below are simple steps that exlain in detail how to use the upload page. Before we begin, you will notice that there is a password field. It is imperative that you do not change the password that is already entered into the password field. The password that already exists in the field is correct and is done this way for security purposes. Please upload ONLY jpg files. We will delete any files that are NOT jpg files. Step 1: Click the Browse... button to open up the explorer window. ![]() Step 2: Navigate to the folder that contains the jpg that you wish to upload and select the jpg. Click the Open button. ![]() Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have chosen all the jpgs that you want to upload into our system. Step 3: Click the button. You will recieve on of three messages... - "Field #xx has no cert selected for upload" - This means that you have not selected a cert to upload in a particular field. This is not an error message, it just informs you that the field was left blank. - "xxx.jpg already exists in the database!" - This means that you have attempted to upload a cert that is already in our database. Your cert has not been uploaded. If your cert is better quality or you would like us to replace a cert with one that you want to supply please use our contact page and let us know. - "xxx.jpg has successfully uploaded into the database" - This is probably the message that you want to see. This means that your cert was uploaded into our database and you can now access it through our search. This concludes the How To Upload Section. Linking The Certificates To Your Existing Website Here at ODiamond.com we believe that keeping things simple is the easiest way to be efficient. There are only a few things to keep in mind when linking your website to our certs. Below is the format in which you need to type in the links. http://www.ODiamond.com/certs/xxx.jpg - Where http://www.ODiamond.com/ is our website address - Where /certs/ is the folder where all of our certs are stored - Where xxx is the cert number and .jpg is the file extension. For Example if I wanted to link cert number 12202382 to ODiamond.com, the hyperlink address would be: http://www.ODiamond.com/certs/12202382.jpg Below is a brief lesson on how to make a hyperlink. HTML uses the <a> (anchor) tag to create a link to another document. An anchor can point to any resource on the Web: an HTML page, a jpg, a pdf file, a sound file, a movie, etc. The syntax of creating an anchor: <a href="url">Text to be displayed</a> The <a> tag is used to create an anchor to link from, the href attribute is used to address the document to link to, and the words between the open, <a>, and close, </a>, of the anchor tag will be displayed as a hyperlink. This anchor defines a link to ODiamond.com: <a href="http://www.ODiamond.com/">Visit ODiamond.com!</a> The line above will look like this in a browser: Visit ODiamond.com! To create a hyperlink to an ODiamond.com jpg copy and past the following into an HTML page: <a href="http://www.ODiamond.com/certs/xxx.jpg> Cert Number: xxx </a> You will have to change the xxx to the cert number. If you would like to put an image as the link instead of text you will need to use the following hyperlink: <a href="http://www.ODiamond.com/certs/xxx.jpg> <img src=path/picture> </a> You will have to change the xxx to the cert number and will have to the change the path/picture to the path and filename of the picture that you want to be displayed as the link to the cert. Finally, make sure to always remember the following! The address of website, its folders, and the cert file names ARE case sensitive and will only work if the address is typed in EXACTLY like it is shown above. For those of you who are experienced in HTML and familiar with computers below is a short list explaining what case to use: - The certs folder has to always be typed up in lowercase letters. - The .jpg extension of the file always has to be typed up in lowercase letters. If you are sure that you did everything correct and the cert still is not showing up when you created the link, try other file extensions, such as .jpeg, .gif, or .bmp - The website address can be whatever combination of UPPER and lowercase letters.
